I'd appreciate assistance where in the codes I can find a table with recommended spacing (gap or distance) between flanges faces. The particular application I have this time is for a 6"-600# flange connection using 2Xflexitallic gaskets and an orifice plate (0.130" thickness). Temperature is 120°F.

Thanks very much,

Regards,

The gap dependent on your gasket thickness? Orifice flanges have jacks so spreading them should not be an issue. Most folks use 1/8" gaskets so the spacing should be: 1/8"*2+0.13" Please look at your piping spec to ensure what gasket thickness you should be using.

Be sure to use the compressed thickness of the gaskets and not the "off the shelf" thickness since you are using Flexitallics.
