Hi all,

I have a simple question I want to extrude or thicken a surface along the right plane of my model.I want the extrusin to take place but it should not cross the right plane.I.e go through it.Is there a way to do this in pro/e. tried looking at controlled extrusion but i am not sure how to quite use it.

The monly other option i think would be to make surfaces all along and that wuold be too tiresome. Can anyone help me.it would me immensly helpful.thanks

Hi
Better if u cud explain with some sketches

Couple of pretty simple ways to go about it.

VSS
_ Create a line on the intersection of Right & Top planes
starting at the base of your surface extending direction
and distance required.
_ Start the VSS, selecting the line as origin trajectory,
change start direction if necessary so it's at the base
of the existing surface.
_ References tab:
Section plane control: Constant normal direction.
Select DTM1 as Direction Reference.
_ Options tab: tick Constant Section and Capped Ends.
_ Click Sketch button to go into Sketcher.
_ Click the Use Edge tool button (or Sketcher -> Edge -> Use)
_ Select the edges of the existing surface.
_ Ok out of Sketcher and complete the feature.

Boundary Blend
Create a transformed copy of the Fill surface.
(Copy, Paste Special, Front plane Move ref, Options: clear Hide original)
Create a Boundary Blend between the two surfs.
