Trying to figure out if anyone publishes design information on extrude and tap threaded hole forming (i.e. flowdrill). I'm mostly interested in knowing what size, amount of threads etc. that the extrusion will have based on material thickness and thread size. Any help would be appreciated.

Assume use of a forming tap. The minor diameter gives you an ID for the extrusion.

Assume slight thinning of the material in extrusion; that gives you an OD for the extrusion.

Assume a reasonable radius produced by the forming die.

Then, based on constant volume inside the outer edge of the forming radius, you can guesstimate a credible length for the extrusion. It's practically impossible to measure because the edge will be a fracture surface, so there's little point in dimensioning it.
