Howdy all.
I am designing a set of mounting lugs for a large sheet metal dust collector that will subjected to sub-zero (-35 deg F' [-38 deg C])temperatures. The lugs work at ambient temperature and I am checking the effects the extreme cold will have. However, AISC 13th only touches on the subject in Chapeter 2-31 and 2-33. I have access to Roark's book, which discusses "transition temperature" in chapter 2. However, also, this book does not go in depth on how to estimate the effects of extreme cold.
My question: Is there a text that has an in-depth discussion on the effect cold has on steel?
