Greetings:

I've imported a part file as a component, meaning, the component I had in my folder as a UG file, and then I imported that component into what I call my master file, and now I wish to extract geometry from it, however, when I click on extract geometry, it is not touching this part at all, as if it is not there. Is there a different way to extract geometry?

Thanks,

Brent

If you're trying to extract geometry from a Component in an Assembly, you will need to either 'Promote' the body first or 'Wave' link the edges, faces, bodies, etc that you're interested in.

By "imported that component" do you mean that you added it as a component to your assembly file? If so, you can copy geometry from the component up to the assembly level with the WAVE geometry linker command.

Sorry about that. It was a 'spell check' error ;-) which I've fixed...
