I guess I know what do mean. I recall this dialog perplexed me a bit, at the very beginning, when is was not familiar with the system, now it seems pretty natural. After invoking the command you should select the cylindrical face, then end face for the thread start face. Sometimes NX cannot correctly infer thread direction, so you have to specify it manually, by pressing the "Reverse Thread Axis" button - current direction indicated as the arrow directed outwards the thread start face. As a rule, pay attention to the status bar (the lowest output string of main NX window), all the system messages appear there instantly, to inform you about what action is currently expected from you. For example, when you execute Thread command, it should contain "Select a cylindrical face for table lookup, or choose Manual Input to bypass tables".
