I have been given some drawnings to model and assemble.

How do i make an external threading with a size of M6*1.

The part will fit into a hole.

Search "threads" in the Help files. You probably don't need to model the true helical threads, right--since the M6 callout would then be redundant. If you really need the helical stuff, search for "sweep" and "helix" in Help.

McMaster-Carr has great examples, you may even be able to use a screw right off their website.

NUFCshearer,

How good do these threads have to be? Are you preparing a drawing with threading instructions, or is your solid model going to be used for manufacturing tooling?

If you really don't need the threads, don't model them. It takes up a whole lotta space.
