Export CGM File from NX10 - Can't import that same CGM File INTO NX10 1

Running NX10.0.2.6 -

I can export a .cgm file from NX10 - Drafting or Modeling. I CANNOT import that same file BACK into NX10.

I can place it into Adobe Illustrator and import it into NX9 without issue. Exporting that same geometry into another cgm file from NX9 and trying to import that second file into NX10 doesn't work either.

The error message is:

Unable to import cgm due to error: File not open

Has anyone else experienced this and/or found a fix for this?

I ran a quick test on my system and it works ok.
A quick search in GTAC showed this:

This failure can occur is the NX application is being run in a location where
the current user does not have write access.

The run folder can be modified by editing the shortcut for NX and changing
the "Start In" folder. For example this could be changed to C:\temp or
another location where the user has write access.

Thank you for your response, but this doesn't make sense to me.

I successfully exported the following filetypes out of NX10:
Part
Parasolid
CGM
STL
DXF
IGES
STEP

I could successfully import ALL of them into NX10 EXCEPT the CGM file. I am running NX natively.

Jerry,

It seems to me that if the patches were the problem, as the link would suggest, then I would not be able to translate the cgm file into ANY program, which is not the case.

I can import the CGM file into NX9 and Adobe Illustrator with no troubles.

The NX 10.0.3 MR is available, you might want to try that. If it doesn't work, I'd suggest contacting GTAC.

For the record, I have NX 10.0.3.5 installed (native) and can export/import CGM files with no problems.

@Vikingbro, did you actually try what was suggested?

I just ran a test and I made a video to prove that what I posted works.
See the attached video that shows if you don't have access to the start in folder, you get the exact error message as stated by you in NX10.0.2.
