I am designing 30 ft by 90ft prefab electical building with 4 switchgear line ups and a battery room. I was told that behind my switchgear a person can only go so far before they must be able to exit the building or make a turn out of the path of an arc flash. I was unable to find anything in the NEC but is there a limit to the distance a person must travel before makeing a turn. I am trying to figure out how many doors are needed. Right now one at each end is planned. Thanks

See Article 110. You need one "entrance" at each end (basic rule) for gear longer than 6 feet. There are some exceptions to this.

I don't know about IBC/UBC/NFPA requirements, but Article 110 covers the NEC requirements.
