We are analyzing an existing structure with this deck.
Does anyone know if there is any information available on this deck? (A picture is attached of a section of the deck that was removed minus the concrete)
Basically this is a sheet of metal that is perforated and bent to form a type of composite decking.
Apparently to pour the slab they lay this deck and pour the concrete over it. The concrete seeps thru the expanded metal but the spacing is not enough to allow it to flow. This is how they obtain the composite action.
No other reinforcement is present in this slab and it is currently spanning 6 feet (holding 250 psf pallets). So we are assuming that it is acting as the slabs reinforcing.
I have been up and down Google and I can't find anything close to this.
Thank you all for your help.
