Guys,

There is an air cooled exchanger in our plant (Hudson Hei) for cooling down hot oil service. Recently we has a problem of theis unit trip due to high vibration. We are used to get a vibration company does equipment condition monitoring for us and he advise to check the condition of drive belts and pulleys and if needs be, change the belt. Apart from that, anybody can say if he has experienced similar problem?
The cooler is currently operating with noise.

The noise can come from loose parts, squeeling v-belts, noisy bearings and a lot of other components. It is just like any mechanical device where you can have unbalance, misalignment or lubrication problems, amongst others.

One of the best tools for investigating belt/pully problems is a tunable stroboscope - if you have access to one of these, you can slow down the belt speeds and see if they are either damaged or slipping on the pulley.

You can also get a spray on 'belt dressing' (google for details) which you can quickly apply to the running items to see if the noise goes away
