Excessive retardation of concrete - any articles or papers?

I am working with a client who had problems due to slow setting of concrete. It was a high-slump mix with double the normal dose of MB Pozzolith 300R. NDT at 7 days showed low UPV. NDT at 14 days showed a 50% improvement.

Does anyone know of any articles or papers describing similar experiences?
