Does anyone know if the equation editor was upgraded between Excel 2013 and Excel 2007? My desktop computer at work is Excel 2007 and the laptop that I travel with has Excel 2013. I created a spreadsheet while I was traveling (Excel 2013) that included equations from the equation editor. When I transferred the file to my desktop computer and opened the file the equations show up as pictures and were unable to be edited. Has this happened to anyone else? I have tried a Google search on this and cannot find anything.

Yes, It was Searun.
I faced the same issue before. I can tell you that this change came on the 2010 version, not just now at the 2013 version.
I couldn't find another way to fix then by retyping everything.
At least old ones were kept as images.

The good news is that the procedure shown at:
for inserting an equation in Excel 2003 still works in XL 2013.

The bad news is that, from a very brief trial, it seems to be almost unusable.

But have a look; if you are familiar with the old equation editor maybe you will find it easier to use than I did.
