I first started spreadsheeting with Quattro Pro. Often folks would scoff at Quattro vs. Excel. However, there are some built in functions in Quattro that I have found lacking in Excel.
One such area is curve fitting and looking up values on the solved curve. LINEST, TREND, GROWTH, LOGEST did not produce my desired results. Quattro had a SPLINE and USESPLINE command that did wonderful curve fit and lookup.
Yesterday, I found a wonderful free solution for Excel and thought I would spread the love:
It does:
Three Dimensional Interpolate and Extrapolate Functions; Two Dimensional Interpolate, Extrapolate, Cubic Spline, Polynomial Curve Fitting, Line Intersections, Minima, Maxima, First Derivative, Second Derivative, and other functions.
