I am in the process of doing some stress calculation on the bearing surfaces of two mating parts of an assembly. I need to determine a tangent point and angle at there point of contact. I was/am able to flex the model and take a measurement of these two parameters. I was wondering if any has created an evaluation fetaure to "kick" this value out evreytime I make a change to the assembly.
I know this can be done in Pro/E, has anyone done this within solidworks????

On a sort of related topic, can the user be prompted for design inputs to flex a model? Again, this can be accomplished rather easily in Pro/E through a program and dimesional callout......

Thanks in advance for yor help....

You can use sketchs and/or reference dimensions to pull measurements off of a model, similar to a ProE analysis feature. The reference dims can then be read, or used in an equation, or whatever.

Also, for user prompted inputs, you can get quite creative with design tables.
