Not only contact them, but be prepared to have to give them a P.O. number as collateral.
Resellers will vary, but I've worked through 3, and 2/3 of them have tended to be very unfriendly towards "small fish". Not the best company to be buying software licensing from - from any vantage point - least of all, "try before you buy".

DS used to have an "evaluation copy" of CATIA V5 that was crippled - you couldn't plot or save. I don't know if it's up to date or not, but contact someone from your reseller to find out.
There hasn't been an evaluation version for years. Usually, the evaluation is offered when the product is new on the market. I don't think it's been offered, though, since 2002.
No "student" versions, either.
