I am in need of a spring wire supplier for an EU alloy.
(Specifically Alloy 3920)
Any recommendations?
Thanks

Can you be more specific about the alloy designation? Under what standard does it appear? I am not familiar with a designation called Alloy 3920.

Thanks for the replies.
The material is NI-FE based with the addition of Ti and Mo.
See my previous thread for Chemistry.
There is no domestic standard.
I was told the material originated in Europe and marketed as a "Titanium spring material".

Your other post "coil spring material thread693-157238"was on June 12. Why not design the spring from scratch. Knowing forces, environment etc. you can design the spring from common known spring materials.

If you do not know what the spring has to endure you can not just copy the material. Even if you had the original material you still has to know the manufacturing processes such as: set remove, shot peening etc.

Aerospace application.
Changing materials = Re-testing/qualifying with FAA and huge investment in Tylenol

Even if you find the exact material you can not just copy the number of coils and dimensions. You may be surprised that the spring will not have the same properties of the original spring. To reverse engineer a spring you have to be a spring design expert. You can copy a spring only if you have the original drawings and manufacturing processes documntations.
