Hi my name is Bob Gaulin and I have woodworking machinery from europe. The motors have no designation for Class I Division II required by the AHJ is there any kind of cross reference that would rate these motors as equall to US motors?

Bob

You may need to clarify a little.

Are you using the woodworking machinery in a Flammable gas atmosphere as defined by the Class 1 or did you mean a Class II area where flammable dust atmospheres are present.

It is more likely this is a Class III location - if it is necessary to classify it at all. Unless an exceptional amount of fine sanding is done, it is unlikely this would be a Class II, Group G situation. . In order to be a "combustible dust" it must be “finely divided, less than 420 microns.” See NFPA 499.
