Hi,
I've got a European customer requesting equipment for the following hazardous classification:
EExdeIICT4

Can anyone confirm my understanding that this is equivalent to Class I Div.1 Groups A & B, Temp Class T4 (135C) ?

Thanks,
Evan

Be careful here, if the equipment is for Europe it must be certified to IEC60079 and ATEX100a. NEC certification on its own is not sufficient.

You are correct, the equipment specified is flameproof similar to Class1 Div 1
Gas Group C = Hydrogen and T4=135C

EExd = flameproof
suffix e = increased safety (probably the terminal box)

This classification is common for a motor in a Zone 1 area

Sean
