Hi all,
Developing a wing leading edge skin repair for a Czech Blanik L-23 glider and need to use CherryMax or equivalent rivets in a couple of locations. Blanik repair manual says "If the area is inaccessible from the inside...use special rivets with pins per the Standard 1646S49 (or 1646549, bad copy)". I assume these are like CherryMax or such but need confirmation and mechanical specs. Size to be used in repair is -4/.125"/3.20mm.
Can any of our European counterparts help in providing this standard or the mechanical properties for this size? Google was no help!!

Thanks John Q.

JQ...

If these are "common blind fasteners", then Cherry, Huck and/or Allfast tech folks should know what Your Euro P/N represents.... and may have equivalents with known MMPDS allowables.

BTW... for repair... You probably should consider oversized BRs unless you have perfect holes, still fully aligned.

Be careful substituting American rivets for Eastern European rivets, the head angles are slightly different.
Check with Vitek Siroky at Blanik usa for the correct rivets and acceptable substitutes.
