Ethanol storage for hand sanitizer/mouthwash processing

Good day, ladies and gents.

I'm currently working on bid tendering for an ethanol storage vessel(aboveground, vertical) whose contents will be used to produce hand sanitizer gels, mouthwash, etc.

To what standard should the ethanol tank be produced? To be 3-A or EHEDG compliant, e.g. no crevices, all welded joints, minimum surface roughness, etc.? Or can the tank be constructed as for a non-food-grade application?

Consider ASME BPE (Bioprocessing Equipment Standard). Section SD-4.7 in the 2009 edition would be a starting point. Since the contents will be used in "pharmaceutical" products, it follows that ancillary systems that convey raw materials to be used in those products must meet the same guidelines (and the BPE is a guideline, not a code).

You'll probably have to worry about explosion proof design as well. There are a number of NFPA standards in addition to the NEC that may apply.
