Hello,
I have a 5-span beam and want to reinforce it for the envelope case ,e.i: first the ultimate load should be distributed to the whole system , second the ultimate load will be put on odd spans and dead load on even span, third ultimate load should be on even spans and dead load on odd spans.
How can I do that in Etabs 2013 .
I defined Load combinations as : 1-ultimate (1.2D +1.6L ) and Deadl load = Dl , then comb1 with envelope case as it will have Dl and ultimate as cases, and when i did that the moments i get were lower than moments from ultimate load alone which is wrong.
