Our company has a system as follows:
(1) A normally aspirated diesel engine displacing 92 liters with a maximum speed of 1800 rpm requires combustion air supplied at 25 deg. C and 70% relative humidity.
(2) This system requires (a) an air handling unit capable of supplying at least enough air flow for the engine, (b) a steam generator capable of supplying enough water to meet the humidity conditions and (c) an electric heating unit to meet the temperature requirements.
(3) Ambient conditions: (a) Ambient temperature = 10 deg C., (b) Dew point = 5 deg C.
We need to estimate (a) the required water supply rate of the steam generator, and (b) the heat input rate of the heating unit and the steam generator.
