So my partner couldnt open a model file in NX 8.0 that I have created. HE just couldnt open one of the components. It was giving an error: "A tag was passed belonging to an object that could not be found".
But when I went to m computer and I opened it, it gave me no error, i was able to open it and resave it.
I have no idea what it means "tag was passed"
Thank you all.

Try a part cleanup on the model file with all the 'moderate' actions checked. If that doesn't fix it, a call to GTAC may be required.

and if you need to call GTAC, can to pass along to us what they told you ?

Two things to do.
1) Run the part cleanup found under File- Utilities. When you do so, make sure that all components are fully open. I.e turn off partial loading under File Options Load Options before loading the assembly. Save all after cleanup.
2) If the 1) doesn't help, call GTAC.

A "Tag" is an "id-number" of an NX object, for example a line has a corresponding id number, a tag. When NX does things to the objects, it will call the tag to get the line. If a tag is missing, there's an object without it's reference. Or, if a tag is found that lacks the corresponding object, you will get similar messages. Normally Part clean up will fix this issue. Other systems will not tell you this detailed information, rather the message "Unknown error".

If you and your colleague get different behavior when opening the same assembly, you should verify that you run the same NX version and that you have the same settings.

Tomas

Yeah, I would really like to hear what they have to say about this. Running 8 and have been plagued with the same error
since the previous version.

So I resolved my issue by deleting the component (from my computer, because I was not getting that error, only my coworker was getting it) and than adding that same componnet again. After that my coworker was able to open the component with no error messege.
I never ended up calling GTAC.

And i did try 'Part CleanUp' but it didnt help that time.
