Equations in Assemblies

Has anybody found a way to use equations
in an assembly or can they only be used
for parts?

I have heard of users placing Equations into folders of the Feature Manager in assemblies so when the assembly is rebuilt, the Equation runs... though I have never done this myself.

Yes it is possible to use equations in assemblies. What is the problem you're having?

I wouldn't suggest using equations tho. Instead use reference geometry. Either create a sketch in your assembly and/or create planes and axes to reference to. Or more preferrably put that reference geometry in a separate stand alone part file. We usually call that part the "Layout Sketch". Then you can put that part file in any assemblies that share common features, with the goal (hopefully) not have to have so many assemblies open or a single large assembly...at least that's the idea behind it ;0)
