Hi,

Is there a Swave Redlich Kwong, Ping Robinson, etc. equation of state Excel spreadsheet available?

We are looking for specific heat, thermal conductivity, density and viscosity of different mixtures at various temperatures and pressures.

Most of our uses are hydrogen, air, natural gas, nitrogen, ammonia, water, oils, etc.

A link a download would be helpful.

Short of buying a version of HYSYS I dont think you will find anything that you would consider reliable enough to design equipment on.

These equation are not difficult to program in an Excel spreadsheet; you may find them in many physical chemistry books. The problem I see is that you will not find the necessary basic constants for your particular systems, that you have to put into the equations.

I found a program called Prode ( The demo version works in Excel. Does anyone have experience with this program. My concern is how well it will work with additional calculations. It seems that the embedded Prode calculations need to be forced (Cntl+Alt+F9) to work.

Hi heaterguy,
i have also tried the demo version of prode under excel and found for simple systems (2 components with SRK) acceptable consistency with commercial sim. pcks (hysis).
Can't say how it will work in more complex situations (btw have you seen that eng-tips has a 'Prode Products' forum? but, it's empty...).

On the other hand, i have a couple of spreadsheet once i downloaded (donno where...) with SRK and PR equations implemented to calculate V, enthalpy H and enthropy S.

I could share with you, if i'd only know how...
