Hi,

I am after the equation that gives the cross section of the iron core of a transformer as a function of the maximum power that this iron core can transport.

The transformer is single phase, low voltage primary and secondary, power 300W only, iron core E-I, width of the central leg to be defined. I know that for this kind of transformer, the surface that defines the maximum power is:

width of central leg ("A") x thickness of the individual laminated steel core x number of sheets

this gives something in sq. mm or sq. inch.

I know all the rest of the equations and what i want to do in an Excel sheet is that after the voltage and current are defined, a notification to appear stating whether or not the guess taken for the iron core is sufficient or not.

Thanks.
