I'm looking for some kind of adhesive that will quickly bond a epdm grommet to wire. I need it to let off little vapor and have a high resistance to breaking the bond. Any sort of guidance in any direction is greatly appreciated.

Acrylic adhesives and epoxies will both bond to the epdm; both will likely have trouble bonding to bare metal without some type of prep and primer wash on the metal surface (assuming you are bonding to bare metal; if to the insulation on the wire, you will need to find out how best to prep the polymer surface to achieve a good bond). If you want really high bond strength, look into overmolding the wire with the epdm, using suitable bonding primers on the metal.

You might consider crimping the grommet to the wire with a metal ring. Installation would be much faster.
