Hi,

i have a problem to limit the flow in a pipe in Epanet.
the transmission line is based on gravity with a reservoir at the top and a tank downstream. i want to have a constant flow through the pipe without using a flow control valve. is that possible?
I tried to use a node with a constant demand (=my deliberate flow) after the tank, but the only thing happening is that the tank is filling and emptying seperatly..

I hope you can help me!

It is not possible. A gravity flow pipe will assume whatever flowrate it needs to balance friction loss in the whole system with the gravitational energy available. It will be the flowrate it wants, not your flowrate. If you don't have enough flow, it will flow until it runs empty. If you have too much flow available, it will find its own flowrate and flow no more than that. You can't limit that gravitional energy without a control valve.

Independent events are seldomly independent.
