I am new to using the variable section sweep commands. I am using the section sweep and want to define a cylindrical datum curve using an equation. I select insert model datum curve,I select from equation, create CS0, and then a notepad window and another window titled c:\Windows\system32\cmd.exe opens up. I try to enter the following equation in the notepad window ;

r=25

theta=t*180

z=t*200

and click ok from the curve from equation drop down.

it says

Csys defined

csys type defined

equation defining

and then it seems to lock up my system.

any ideas what i am doing wrong?

This is wf4.0

Do you exit from notepad?

No I do not. There is not much info on how to do this in the tutorial. it just shows the two windows i described earlier. i tried entering the equation in notepad and clicking on ok. Where exactly do i enter my equation?

Can you send a screen shot of where i enter the equation.

Enter the equation in notepad, save in notepad, exit
notepad, then Ok in the datum curve dialog.

Thanks sounds simple, once you do it, but looks confusing the first time you see it!
