Is it possible, in the course of creating a feature, to enter a parameter on the fly? When I sketch a protrusion I want to be able to click a dimension and input a parameter there like hole_1=.25. When I try this, it says that it is a bad expression, please try again. If this is not possible, I'll move this request over to the 'Wish List' forum.

So far as I know, this is not possible. You need to have your parameters defined before you put them in a relation. This would have to be done outside of feature creation.

Would be nice though!
