Hi,
I am looking for an english equivalent to the german mechanical engineering book Roloff matek. It has a VERY wide selection of design principles to choose from, and also a lot of theoretical stuff.
Let me give an idea of what the book contains:
The book contains a very large selection of mechanical design principles and methods for calculating their load bearing capacities.
Say you want to fix a shaft and a hub together. Most books will suggest a key joint. Roloff matek has >10 additional ways of creating shaft-to-hub joints.
It is like a mechanical engineering bible in terms of design practises.
It also touches upon surface roughness, welds, clearances and fits etc.
Is there any english book with a similarly wide selection of design principles?
