Engineering Business-Plan Templates

Hello and thanks again in advance;

I was wondering if there are any general templates, guidelines, or books for planning an engineering venture. Most of the texts/forms out there are either very superficial cookie cutters, or non-engineering based in format. There are even many subtle and not so subtle differences between engineering and technology based businesses. There seems to be a need for good text. Does anyone know of one?
