Does anyone have first-hand information with dustless material transfer chutes? When do they work? When do they not work?

Can anyone direct me to any resources on this topic? I'm working on a project where we are weighing the benefits and liabilities of so-called engineered chutes versus traditional dust control measures (exhaust hoods/ducts/baghouses). The application is for PRB coal.

Thanks.

Thanks CanuckMiner.
I appreciate the links you provided.
There is a lot of good information at the the Martin site.

Depends on the situation (product, layout etc).

There are a number of suppliers in Aus, who supply this service, including:

Gulf Conveyors (or what is left of them). I couldnt find anything on the internet, though as I have had "dealings" with them within the last 12 months, I am reasonably sure they are still around and I have forgotton their name.

You may be able to supply your information and they may be able to supply and estimate / reference installations.

And then there are plenty of Consultants who will also sell you their efforts at chutes also.

Lyle
