engine dimensions

Does anyone have or know whereI can get dimensions for an engine. I want


to model one completelyfirst, then use mechanism.

You may be hard pushed to get the dimensions of an engine. I work for a company that remanufactures engines and we have a hard time getting the dimensional drawings from them and often they are only the casting drawings not the physical ones that you would be more interested in. One though is to try some of the engineering university's and see if they can help. Wish I could be of more help.

Go to www.cadquest.comand download Mechanism Design Book files for free. These files have an actual Engine (main features only) assembly.

Depending on the accuracy required, go to a junk yard and take some basic measurements. Also, you canmeasurenew parts at an auto parts store. A set of gaskets willalso give you a lot of info.


Here's a start - a smallblock Chevy 350 has a bore of 4.00 inches and a stroke of 3.48 inches. A 327 has the same bore and a stroke of 3.25 inches.
