Guys, need your guidance on how to calculated!

We have firetube coal boiler pressure reading on the main header is 8 bar, the boiler feed water temp is 30oC, the use of coal as boiler fuel (1 kg coal = 6300 Kcal) for 24 days is 45000 kg. Steam flows from the main header to the branch header in the production line (2 branches header). Total steam flowmeter reading at the branch header#1 is 38788 kg for 24 days with a pressure reading is 7 bar, others branch header directly into 2nd line of production with 7 bar.

If the use of boiler feed water is 7000 liters/day, how to calculate:

1. Total steam usage per day in Kcal?
2. The amount of coal used per day in Kcal?
3. The amount of steam usage at the header branch in Kcal (header 1 & 2)?

Regards,
charls

How about you have a go and put down your thoughts. This looks like a very simple exercise.

Sounds a lot like homework, actually.

Too many round numbers .... This is yet another homework problem from someone trying to take advantage of others ...

Guys..
what iam sharing its not homework...
iam in the middle discussion with flowmeter steam vendor about the calculation.

I need your advise about the problem as expertise

Thanks

1(Based on mass conservation, water = steam, so 7000kg x 640 = 4,480,000 kcal per day of steam??

2)Coal energy per day is 45000/24 x 6300 = 11,812,000 kCal/day.

So efficiency of about 38%. Not too bad.

3) same question as no 1.

This is very simple stuff here. What's the question again?[pre][/pre]
