Dear friend,
I don't think Energy audit requires any special equipments. Normally all the standard industries may have the required equipments. But I would like to know are you going to audit thermal systems or electrical systems. As you know that In general energy auditing requires some instruments to measure the total input energy and how the system uses the supplied energy .
If it is a thermal system, let us say a small industrial package type boiler instruments required are (List may not be full)
I. Energy supplied measurement
1. Fuel flow rate meter
2. Fuel & Air temperature measurement ( Thermometer)
3. Air flow meter
4. Feed water temperature & Flow
II. Energy utilisation
A. For generation of steam
1. Steam pressure & Temperature
2. Mass flow rate of steam
B. Energy in the exhaust
1. Exhaust gas analyser (which will give the composition of the exhaust products, from that air/fuel ratio, combustion efficiency can be calculated)
2. Exhaust gas temperature
C. Energy in the blowdown water
1. Blow down quantity
Most of the instruments are coming with the boiler itself.
Probably exhaust gas analyser and few temperature gauges may be required for this case.
Like this you can list the instruments required for other systems also. But before the you should know how the system utilising the supplied energy and the losses.

KMPillai.
