Dear Experts,

For a primary and secondary chilled water pump application, I was contemplating to use end suction pump for its simplicity, less procurement time and efficient working when compared over a split case pump.

Split case pumps are convenient from maintenance perspective, however needs more lead time for procurement.

Can some experts add from their experience on this selection.

Thanks in advance.

Regards,
Manu

A lot will depend on the actual flow/head reqirements of the system. Posting a bit more info might get you some useful input, at the moment it's like asking how long is a piece of string.

It is a capital mistake to theorise before one has data. Insensibly one begins to twist facts to suit theories, instead of theories to suit facts. (Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia.)

The requirements demand 1000GPM, with 42M head. Both pumps match the flow rate and head. For that being the case are there any considerations that makes Split case more attractive than end suction. Splitcase is more convenient for maintenance. Any other advantages?

I see no advantage what so ever of a HSC pump over an end suction process pump for the application / flow / head advised, and I would also suggest that there is less maintenance issues with the end suction pump over a HSC.
