I am designing a three-storey steel building in ETABS with roof truss. Should we assign end releases to the truss members? If so, what is the proper way to apply end releases? I see that even when end releases are not applied, and we check for axial/shear/bending moments in those truss members after analysis, no shear and bending moment forces are being displayed!
