I need to size the Emergency vent based on API 2000, however, the properties of the material is not known. It is non-flammable fluid but the properties of the material is not known.

Can anyone suggest me the reference page where API-2000 / NFPA 30 states that one can assume Hexane and use the Table 7 if the properties of the material is not known. I couldn't find it in API-2000.

Thanks in advance!

My standard is not handy but ss far as I remember, you only need to know bubble point (or boiling point) of your liquid to be able to use API2000.
It is true that API 2000 is generated based on Hexane, but the result is applicable for other liquids.
