According to the GAMBICA / REMA guide on best practice for the installation of Power Drive Systems (Guide 3).
3.4.2.3 PROTECTIVE CONDUCTOR (EARTH) CONNECTION.

To operate as a protective conductor, the shield conductance must be at least 50% of
that of the phase conductor.

According to this SWA Conductivity Info:-

All 3C XLPE BS5467 cables 6mm2 & above have a Maximum armour conductivity expressed as a percentage (%) of one phase conductor less than 50%.

This means using 4 core cables from 6mm2 up to 16mm2 & 3 core with separate half size cpc for cables over 16mm2 (as advised by ABB).

What do others think about this?
