Hi All,

I am currently doing a design of a 1050mm diameter contiguous bored pile wall. I have the option of using either LEM or LEM with Beam Elastoplastic foundation analysis. I have tried both with different results.

I am trying to figure out which one is best to use as the Beam elastoplastic method produces a lot of deflection and require a deeper embedment depth compared to LEM method.

The wall is installed in soft clay up to a depth of 7m of SPT varying from 4 to 8 and 4-5m into the hard clay stratum with SPT of 50 and over. The wall freestanding height is 5.4m.

Any advice is appreciated. Thanks.

Alex
