I need your help. I am trying to built a virtual simulator. I want to put on a solid (baseplate) part, some 500 virtual spring at certain compression values to simulate different soil or ground compaction. This way, the penetration (in depth)of some machinery imprints in the soil can be mesured. I need help to find a way to have the springs attached on a solid surface about 0.5 inch appart in a rectangular grid (like a independent spring mattress). As an example, an imprint in clay that can be mesured.
