Hi there,

I'm trying to do some analysis to calculate electrical stress distributions in cable insulation (novice). The element type i'm using is the PLANE230, in order to apply a current to the nodes of the internal diameter of the insulation.

My question is, do i need to have some sort of an 'infinite boundary', as, if this is the case should i be using the PLANE121 elements (which the INFIN110 data describe as compatible)?. Thanks in advance for any tips on this or electrical stress analysis in general!

M.
