Regarding typical electrical resistivity profiling or sounding, I need to determine the contact resistance between a metal electrode inserted into the earth and the earth material itself. I am sure there is a way of doing this with a DMM or megger. However, I am unable to do this with a DMM without designing some type of attachment or special probe for insertion into the ground (otherwise, I would not know the contact resistance of this special probe, and would be right back where I started). Any ideas for a simple field method of determining contact resistance would be greatly appreciated.
