hello,
I think the better option is long raduis elbow, because reduce pressure loss . But why we use of short raduis elbow ?
Thanks for your comments

It's been my experience that you normally use S.R. Ell.s when your fighting space limitations. I've had to use a number of them when tie in a new design to existing piping configurations. The lead time on them from the distributor can be "painful" sometimes too ...especially if it's some odd wall thickness. My 2 cents. ...Mark

moh,

Short radius elbows are used in places where the piping designer has limited space...

Because they cost more, have a higher pressure drop and "stress intensification factor" ( see ASME B31.1) nobody likes them.

If you see a short radius ell on a drawing, it should be obvious, from the geometry of the application, why it is necessary. If it is there without an obvious reason, you probably have an inexperienced piping designer....

My thoughts only....

I also thought you don't use SR elbows for lines that will be pigged.
