elastomer under constant load

Hi,
I am working on the development of modular division walls for a students project. the walls should be connected to each other by means of elastic straps, which are at the same a visual, "good looking" device.
Which elastomers are suitable for such an application? and what are good fatigue/ creep (permanent set?) values if the material is stretched for about 10 percent of its original length?

Elastomers generally do not perform well under constant tensile loads due to creep and "necking". One way arround this is shock-cord where a braided jacket is put around the rubber. The mechanics of the braid assures fairly uniform strain over the length of the cord.
