Due to high corrosion(localised Pitting type)in Carbon Steel piping meant to handle sour water having H2S(800 PPM) and CO2 we are evaluating to use rubberlined CS Piping to handle both H2S & CO2 corrosion under service temperature of around 40 Deg.C.Due to application limitation(below 3" size)we didn't consider to use cement lined CS pipe which is supposed to give considerable life time in the above service under neutral/alkaline pH range.

Did anyone used rubber lined CS for sour water service in off-shore installation with any of the following spec:-

Nitrile rubber
Hydrogenated Nitriles
FKM
EDPM

If so please share your experience and suitability using above elastomer/thermoplastic lining in CS pipe below 4" Size.

with advance thanks,

According to my information EPDM or butyl rubber compounds will give satisfactory service as linings in your application.
