Elastic modulus: steel vs brass behaviour

Am trying to figure out the variant in the behaviour of steel as compared with brass. The elastic modulus for steel is greater than that for brass. I want to find out which woould stretch more easily and which is stiffer.

Steel is stiffer, brass stretches easier. Remember the difference between elastic and plastic deformation.

If you take a strip of each material, fix one end, and load the other to cause it to bow (making sure that the load is light enough that when removed they will spring back to original position, no plastic deformation) the brass will defect twice as much as the steel.
