I have a system that is using multiple servomotors to drive a single gearbox. We are doing this for the smaller motor inertias, better positional accuracies, and backlash control. What additional drops in efficiency do I need to be aware of beyond the efficiencies of each drive independendently? In other words, if one motor driving gives an output torque x, will 2 give 2x, 3 give 3x, etc.; or is there an additional loss of efficiency?
